The Wedding
Hello and welcome! This page contains all the information for the marriage of Paul and Helen. This should answer all the who, what, when, where and why of the celebrations. If you're not sure about anything then just get in touch!
The Venue: Hargate Hall, Buxton, Derbyshire, SK17 8TA
Their website: www.hargate-hall.co.uk
The Details
The ceremony will take place at 14.00 on Saturday 12th March 2016 in the main hall of The Hargate Hall building. This is a small venue and as a result; we are limited to just 58 guests due to seating allowances. We have hired a characteristic old house in the middle of the peak district which has 12 apartments containing several bedrooms. It is beautiful and remote and very private; we have exclusive use of the house and grounds for the entire weekend. The accommodation costs £80 per person and this will cover Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. The cost is per person, per bed and where possible we will do our best to find people private rooms, however friends and family may need to share due to the nature of the house. It is up to you if you would like to stay all 3 nights or just 1 night, either way the cost is the same as the bed is yours for the weekend.
The arrangement is self-catering, and the house is in the middle of the countryside, the nearest shop is a 15min drive away; so you will need to bring your own food and drink. We will however be providing Lunch and Dinner on Saturday and we ask that you bring a little something to share for Sunday’s informal shared buffet lunch. Buxton is the nearest town and has restaurants and supermarkets if you wish to gather food/eat out. The best bit - there's no bar. Feel free to bring all your own favourite booze to enjoy throughout the weekend. We will aim to provide mixers and some wine / beer for Saturday, however if you have a favourite spirit we’d advise you bring that with you.
Please understand that due to a very limited guest list; the Saturday wedding ceremony and dinner is by invite only. We have had to be very strict with our guest list (unfortunately) as we are on a budget and space is of a premium. Please therefore understand that only the bride and groom’s immediate family are invited to bring their children (and pets!). However because we would rather have everyone if we could; we are going to hold a 2nd reception on the Sunday with a shared buffet and live music and belly dancing.
Please confirm by R.S.V.P if you would like to attend our wedding and if you would like to stay at Hargate Hall in a self-catering apartment. We need to get an idea of numbers ASAP so we can work out who is staying where, etc. If you’re unable to make it then please let us know as soon as you can as although we’ll be sad to not have you at our day, your space could be filled by someone we didn’t have room to invite. Thank you. X (if we haven’t had a reply from you by March this year we will have to assume you’ve decided not to attend as we need to gather deposits for the accommodation).
Can’t make it to the ceremony or stay over?
The wedding ceremony and the formal celebration/reception will be held on the Saturday 12th March and is strictly by invite only with a limited guest list.
If you’re unable to make this or if you have children/loved ones you would like to bring with you, you're welcome to join in on the Sunday.
In the afternoon we will be holding an informal get together to celebrate our marriage. There will be a ‘bring a dish’ shared buffet and live music from local bands and belly dancing. Everyone is welcome so if you want to come or bring others then please let us know in advance for planning/food/drink purposes.
We will most likely kick off the festivities at around 14.00 and will add more details nearer the time.

How to pay your accommodation cost
Please pay for your accommodation as soon as you are able, we have set up an account specifically for the wedding costs.
A 50% deposit will be required by 31st July 2015, with the payment in full due on 31st December 2015.
We need to pay the venue up front as soon as possible. Please either pay us in cash or via bank transfer to our wedding saving account (please email us for the details as posting them on an open website would be a little bit silly!). You can also paypal the money to us as a gift (so that we don’t get charged paypal fees) to the paypal address: halima.sagira@gmail.com
Ladies; Would you like to wear a Yukata?
Helen & Paul met in Japan and as a result they'll be doing a few things to honour their meeting place. Helen is folding 1000 paper origami cranes to learn patience (ha!) and bring good luck for the wedding. Also; Helen has around 15 Japanese Yukata (summer Kimono) which she would dearly love to see as many as possible on display during the actual wedding ceremony. If any ladies would like to wear a Yukata, please email halima.sagira@gmail.com (Helen). The Yukata can be easily folded over the top of most outfits so you need only wear it during the ceremony and photos and take it off if you like after that. (or you could go all out and have the full ornamented hair and wear it all day - its up to you!).
FAQ
When will I know which apartment I am being placed in?
Paul & Helen are working on getting 60 guests into 12 apartments, as soon as we know who is and isn’t coming and we have all the payments from all the guests we can sort out exactly who is staying where.
Where are the nearest shops?
The nearest shops are in Buxton, a 10-15minute drive from the venue.
Is bed linen provided?
Yes. All bedding is provided and included in the price. All beds are all made up for you on arrival, but they ask that you strip the beds that you have used on your departure.
Please however bring your own bath towels and there are only hand towels in the bathrooms.
What facilities do the apartments have?
Every apartment has; A Television, DVD player, WIFI access, a Kitchen with cutlery and glasses, mugs etc and a cooker (oven & electric hob), a microwave and kettle and toaster.
How much will I spend on electricity?
- NOTE: All apartments are on electric meters. If you run out, just pop a £1 in. We have spoken to the venue and they say that £1 should last the whole weekend but it completely depends on how much electricity you use.
What are the arrival and departure times?
You can arrive anytime after 18:00 on the Friday and you must leave by 10:00 on the morning of the Monday.
Can I perform on the Sunday?
Sure!!! We will have a performance from Helen’s band The Skyligers, some open mic type set up, performances and join in dances with belly dancers (including Helen!), anyone is welcome to get up and sing / dance / play us a tune.
Are fireworks permitted?
No. Due the close proximity of livestock we do not allow fireworks other than on 5th November. Sky Lanterns are also not permitted - sorry!
Is there a Wedding Gift list?
Paul & Helen have been living together for a few years now and so they have all the household items they could need. We will have a wedding post box on the day for all notes, cards and no doubt some marriage advice to be posted into – if you would like to give a gift, please donate a little something towards our honeymoon / first mortgage together via the postbox.
However if the idea of giving money in a card really doesn’t sit well with you and you’d rather give a physical gift; we would love some vouchers from Denby, can be found here - http://www.denby.co.uk/factory-shops/gift-vouchers/pcat/giftvouchers
